CareFusion Q2 Profit Declines; Revises Up FY10 View - Update

(RTTNews) - Medical device maker CareFusion Corp. (CFN), reported a lower second-quarter profit on Tuesday, as a 5% increase in revenue was offset by an increase in expenses. The company also revised up its earnings and revenue guidance for fiscal 2010, with earnings expectations below the current consensus estimates of Street analysts.
The San Diego, California-based company's second-quarter net income decreased to $70 million or $0.32 per share from $188 million or $0.85 per share a year ago.
On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the quarter decreased to $88 million or $0.39 per share from $110 million or $0.50 per share in the prior-year quarter.
