Mid-America Bag LLC, a US-based manufacturer and supplier of consumer and industrial trash bags and food storage bags, has acquired the film division of CPI Plastics Group, Ltd., a Canada-based company engaged in designing, engineering, manufacturing and processing thermoplastics.

CPI was placed into receivership on January 8, 2009 following a petition by its main secured lender Bank of Montreal.

Deloitte & Touche acted as advisor to CPI on the sale.
