(RTTNews) - India's wholesale price index comprising primary articles and fuel, power, light & lubricants, rose to 8.94% for the week ended October 24, 2009 compared to 8.67% in the previous week. The inflation stood at 11.73% in the corresponding week of last year, showed the government data.

The Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) decided to release the wholesale price index comprising only primary articles and fuel, power, light and lubricants weekly and wholesale price index of all commodities on a monthly basis here after. The monthly WPI for the month of October is due on November 12, 2009.
