Commercial information, such as feedback you have provided, homeowner status, vehicles owned, and your current insurer. We may disclose this information to our service providers, advertising partners, analytic partners, and as required by law.
Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as your browsing history, search history, web logs, and other information regarding your interactions with and use of the Websites. We use Sensitive Personal Information for legitimate business purposes, including to (i) perform services or provide goods reasonably expected by an average person; (ii) detect security incidents; (iii) resist malicious, deceptive or illegal actions; (iv) ensure the physical safety of individuals; (v) for short-term, transient use; (vi) perform or provide internal business services; or (vii) verify or maintain the quality or safety of a service or device. We do not sell or share (as defined under California law) any Sensitive Personal Information.

Use of Personal Information

We may use the information we collect about you for the following purposes:

Providing you with the Service. Quote.com may use your Personal Information to deliver the Service to you and otherwise provide you with the products and experience that you request from us.
Customer Service. We may use or disclose your Personal Information where it is necessary for us to provide support related to a Service, validate data related to a Service for troubleshooting and dispute resolution purposes, or do something that you have asked us to do. For example, if you use a service offered by Quote.com, you may be asked for information needed to complete your request.
Build and maintain our relationship with you. We use your Personal Information to improve your experience on our Service; understand your preferences and send you promotional messages and advertisements about products you may like; communicate with you about products and events you may be interested in; and send you surveys. Analytics Partners. Quote.com may disclose your information with third parties for the purpose of improving the functionality of our Service.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not aimed at children under 18 years of age. You should not use the Service if you are not 18 years of age or older. If a person under 18 submits information through our Service and we learn the person is under 18 years of age, we will take steps to delete the information once we learn of it.

Your California Rights

If you are a resident of California, you may be entitled to the privacy rights described below under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).

We use the Personal Information we collect for the purposes described in the Use of Personal Information section of this Notice.

We have not sold Personal Information for any monetary value. However, our use of certain cookies may be considered a “sale” of information under California law. We may have disclosed your internet activity or non-specific geolocation with third parties whose cookies are on our Websites. These cookies are used to analyze usage of our Websites, provide you with relevant advertising and products, and provide additional, dynamic functionality to our Websites. Quote.com cannot respond to your request or provide you with Personal Information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the Personal Information relates to you. We will not request more information than is necessary to verify your identity in relation to your request. When you submit a request, we will take steps to verify your identity. You are not required to create an account with us to submit a request. If you don’t have an account with us, we may ask you to provide us with information about yourself in order to verify your identity.

We will only use Personal Information you provide in connection with identity verification to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request and whenever feasible, we will attempt to match the information you provide with information we may already have about you.

If you wish to authorize a third party to make a request on your behalf through an authorized agent, you must contact Quote.com directly and must provide a valid California power of attorney or comparable documentation of written permission from you and verification of your identity with Quote.com. You may also make a privacy request on behalf of your minor child.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Additional U.S. State Privacy Disclosures

These Additional U.S. State Privacy Disclosures supplement the information contained in the Privacy Notice. These Disclosures apply only to residents of Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia.

Consumer Privacy Rights

You may have the following rights, subject to any applicable exemptions or limitations:

Right to Access. You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your Personal Information and to access such Personal Information.
Right to Correct. You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information that we maintain about you.
Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete your Personal Information subject to certain limitations under applicable law.

Submitting a Privacy Rights Request

Making a consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. Applicable law may limit the number of times that you can submit a particular request within a 12-month period.

You can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable law.

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require us to ask you to provide information so that we can match it with information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g., phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.

We will only use Personal Information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for the purposes of verification. If, however, we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity, and for security or fraud-prevention purposes. We will delete such additionally provided information as soon as we finish verifying you.
